The annual Perseids meteor shower, in conjunction with the comet Swift-Tuttle, should begin in the late evening hours of Sunday August 12 and continue to fill the Sioux Falls sky until the early morning hours Monday Aug. 13.

Star watchers should see high amounts of meteors at around 11 p.m., when the Perseus constellation, from which the meteor cloud gets its name, is placed well above horizon. It will continue to rise and then peak around 2:30 a.m.

The most direct way to view the shower will be to look southeast of the North Star, Polaris, where the constellation is located. It should appear as if the meteors are coming directly toward you.

My guess is yes, as long as you can see the stars in the sky (might have to go outside the city a little).

No idea, my guess is most all places would see a meteor showers. You can give it a shot though.
