I like the thinness of Air but it does come with some disadvantages; no ethernet port, can't change the battery, no disc drive!

big waste of money from apple.

surprised? not at all

i watched the keynotes and kept laughing
they lead people to think there is over 4million people using iphones but thats just how many have been sold to the phone companys not people using it. bullshit every day since release 20,000 people spend 700 bucks on it.

Yeah, I mean not being able to change the battery is no big deal (although still kind of sucks) but no ethernet port or disc drive is a real bummer.

The multi-touch pad seems like it would be a fun feature. I wish I could test that out.

Yeah, it's probably over priced but no surprise there. It seems to me that Apple products are always a little more expensive then they need to be. Your definitely paying for the look and the Apple name.

3 fucking grand for that piece of shit

there is no way that is even remotely worth it

i would rather spend 3grand on a desktop and carry it on my back all day knowing it would blow that macbook out of the water in every category execpt weight and size.

why pay twice the amount for a computer when one not much bigger will run circles around it Sony VAIO VGN-FZ280E/B is a great example and only about 1600 bucks too

To be fair, Apple's website says Air starts at $1,799.

i like the commercials, its so thin it fits in an envelope. that is convenient. so when it breaks you have something to ship it back in.

I still have the same hardon i got when i saw it for the first time two weeks ago.

Best piece of technology this year...

So far...

It's a bit too expensive though.

And who needs disc drives anyways, it's lame and it's outdated, and should be put in containers along with cassette players, vhs tapes and wall to wall carpets

I would strongly disagree with you on that one. Even though you can buy most software as a download now, have fun downloading the entire Creative Suite DVDs and completely wasting hard drive space that the Air already has a limited amount of. Can't burn CDs or DVDs? Wow, talk about outdated.

I suppose you could get a USB or Firewire DVD Rom drive, but if you have to lug that around with you anyway, what's the point?

I still want to try that multi touch though!

Well as usual apple is ahead of time.

I predict that in less that 5 years cd's and dvd's will be obsolete.

I understand that it would be nice to have a disc drive, i found it weird too that they left it out. I also found it weird when they left out the floppy drive back in the days.

But fact is, you don't really need a disc drive, unless you're gonna rip a cd or dvd.
