There’s a little bit of uncertainty about who and what will be shown, but Warner Bros. Records’ New York office and Spill Canvas drummer Joe Beck both confirmed that the video for “All Over You” will be shown today on TRL. There’s a slight chance the Sioux Falls rock band’s members could make an appearance on camera during the video request program “TRL,” but it’s sounding unlikely.

Still, this is a big step for a band trying to push its way into the mainstream market. And, judging from a series of text messages with Beck, who is the son of Argus Leader Executive Editor Randell Beck, this is just the start of some pretty prominent coverage. Beck says the guys, who are currently in New York City, will be filming footage this week for upcoming MTV programming. And NYC’s prominent K-rock radio station will be featuring the band this week.

It looks like that vague promise of “big things to come in ’08” from Spill Canvas’ management is holding up.

The band, which was formed by frontman Nick Thomas, will be opening up for the popular rock act Plain White Ts in Europe this spring. Sunday’s Best Buy advertising supplement distributed in newspapers around the nation featured the Spill Canvas as an “up-and-coming” artist alongside rising acts like Band of Horses and Rilo Kiley.

And Alternative Press’ January issue featured the Spill Canvas giving the mag’s readers a quick taste of Sioux Falls – highlighting Sculpture Walk, Phillips Avenue Diner, Nutty’s North, The Falls and the need for bug repellent.
