Quake 3 running at 10,240 x 3,072 on 24 monitors

Quote:
"It's amazing how much more fun games are when you can play them on really large, high-resolution screens. Our lab also has a 24 monitor display wall, and as you can see from the pictures below, I got Quake 3 running on it. The system is driven by 12 linux servers (2 monitors per server) using Distributed Multihead X (DMX) and Chromium. Chromium distributes the OpenGL rendering from the head node to all of the servers. The game runs fairly fast, though some lighting effects had to be turned off and Chromium is having some trouble with the mouse. Even so, playing the game is an awesome experience."

That is crazy awesome.

Well to tell you the truth, i would say: NO THX.
I'm not willing stuff like that, why? Simply, its really awfull having those edges of the monitors, also that you have to rotate your body 180 degrees to see if someone is behind you, also its really too high in lenght, if you have to look up you get the same moment hurt in your neck.

As they also said, it don't work fully perfect, they are running it at 15FPS, thats not really fast isn't it, and what do you have at 24 monitors if sometimes the mouse don't work :S if your playing online and then your mouse don't work its not really something to be happy with is it?
I will go with the 30" inch monitors from Dell.
