I thought the first and last ones were pretty sweet. I didn't care too much for the second one. But I like the perspective aspect of the third one a lot, creative use of "space".

P.S. Welcome to AI. :ai:

I agree, the play with perspective on the last one really stands out. It's a nice change to see some great vector artwork on here too. Not too many designers on here using strictly Illustrator.

The images are actually altered and prepared in Photoshop and the image is transferred and vectorized in Illustrator, i do use all the Adobe and Macromedia products, but for what i like to do alot is in Illustrator and Photoshop

Contour said: "so you (l)ive trace them ??". Another way to get vector lines from raster artwork is to create paths in Photoshop and then go to File>Export>Paths to Illustrator. The lines will look a little choppy, so then I smooth out the lines in Illustrator using the Object>Path>Simplify command.

You're welcome. I forgot to mention how I usually get paths in Photoshop. Rather than hand-drawing the paths with the pen tool, you can turn any selection (marching ants) into paths. Just select the area (so you have the marching ants) then go to the Paths palette, click that little triangle in the upper-right corner and select "Make Work Path". Then you can export the paths to Illustrator. I've done this quite a few times. We have customers that send us crappy jpg images and need them printed with spot colors. We need the vector artwork to print them correctly.

I've had a couple professors use the term "marching ants". I thought everyone used it.

I thought it was pretty cool. I don't believe I've heard that analogy before.

Apparently I am the only one that hasn't. Oh well. I still think it's cool.
