Fiberglass, would that get really cold in the winter or does it stay nice and warm all year round? You need to also make a nice foot rest piece since this would only cater to sitting up.

Very sleek design though. Let me guess what you are going to "call" it. The iChair?

will you be constructing this? a thin rubber strip on the bottoms where the chair meets the floor would be nice to prevent sliding on hardwoods.

this would look awesome in a room... one tiny issue tho... wot stops it tipping back when you sit back on it :P.

ok looked at it and best bet would to give the back bit a flat bottom and make it slightly wider, that should in theory stop it tipping back.

its only a concept project so ive not actually made it, just some 1:10 models and the renders.

The chair wont actually tip backwards with the geomotry it has, its weight keeps it forward freestanding and due to the position of your body when you sit in it, your weight is forward, 2 degrees back and its a different story.

As for sliding, Didnt have to solve that issue as its only conceptual but some rubber feet or grips would suffice.

Final major project starts soon so expect many concepts and a final piece :)

Sweet. How much would a chair like this even cost, figuring in all the cost of manufacturing? Just curious is all.

hah well to make it in fibrelgass as a one off would be about $600 maybe, but if you were mass producing it probably less than $5 per chair although the tooling involved in seting up a mass production line is around $50,000... so err.. concept :P
