So there is a music community I'm a part of called Musical Family Tree.. which is an archival system run off a dynamic community-based system called ning. My job is to redesign/re-align the current homepage content so that pertinent information is upfront. Also, while creating a unique homepage with features and cubes of information. That information will be brought in with PHP code and RSS.. This site is massive. As always, feedback is welcome in it's most constructive form. Currently.. the client really digs it.

Unfortunitly, I would probably drop the illustration. I agree about the footer, it may take away from the content, or at least be a little confusing to the user. I think a good footer blends to the site more, not contrast.

Enough with the bad. Holy crap dude, I really liked your navigation, really slick. The colors I see you stuck with from the old site mainly, no complaints. Looks amazing. Professional work man.

Oh, and the only thing I might change, is in the header. Perhaps, instead of the white background at the top, change it to a light color. Maybe a very light green? But it's hard to tell unless I see it so maybe just want to try it, if it looks dumb, still with the #ffffff.

i was thinking of getting a tattoo.. something along the lines of ..

#FFF and #000

yeah, i'll probably ditch the footer (although it would look fuckin killer as a header).... it was more a present I drew for these guys cuz they just lost a friend in the local music community, and I drew it to help them heal. So I scanned it and used it.. twas probably not my smartest design move.

updated the design, thanks for the feedback. I almost like white lines, I'm not sure.. it's a draw on that one.

I think people who got the tat idea, would soon there after call me a nerd :) and that would make me feel awesome inside.
