just adding to buu to get on google quicker i know a few tips of the trade, e.g. u can set a date in there to make it think its scan of your site is outdate which kinda makes the bot go OH SHIT and it'll scan it madly ;). just give me a shout when the times come or i might post the info in tutorials or summit.

As for the layouts i liked bits in both, like br3n's you are here thing, as for repeating images... is this gonna be html or php as php would kinda knock it out a bit. I'm not too keen on the colours of either of the sites and agree where someone said its a graphics SITE so needs that X-factor to make it stand out some. look forward to beta2 emo ;).

Yeah, the photos code will be done by TS7 and will mainly use XML to make it easier to update.

As for the layout, I have been working off and on the orginal beta for about 2 weeks, Cone Graf did the orginal layout and I have been messing with it since then. It wasn't until today, that br3n submitted that layout design, pretty much a complete change to the orginal and I will be calling it beta 2 (2.1 etc etc) from now on. I will try to make change and update to it as needed. And I will show each revision of the beta, so members on AI can see what needs to be added or taking out for the final site...

Let me go back and lay down the ultimate goals for psT.net.

-- One stop site for ALL pstennis information and resources

-- Have AI members contribute to make a site

-- In the long run, generate more traffic to AI

Now, the general layout again will be from br3n, but anyone feel free to submit suggestions or work they feel should be on this site. Or simply tell me what looks good or not...

Hopefully, I'll continue to get some input on the site...

I like some of the ideas that br3n brought to the table..I would throw in the suggestion that you move the nav to the left side. Some conventions are there because they work. Top navs and left navs work the same way a book works.

I would seriously look into some PHP to solve the problem of the image portions. I know you can make thumbnails from an original image, and I know that you can create a portion of an image with PHP. Perhaps you can create some sort of system where the code takes the image from teh post and creates that portion view through PHP code. I'll look into some stuff and see what I can come up with for that.

Yeah, I really should. Right now I have Cone Graf working on a design/layout, no code. I can either try to intregrate HTML in and code the basics my self. Consumed said he knows mySQL/PHP/HTML all very well, so he could be a backend/coder type guy for this.

I think that would be awesome if I could incorprate the forums into the site, that would be awesome! Great idea with that! I do realize this will end up being a pretty big project...

I really like that idea Alex and I will definitly keep you informed and get some more information on that rank idea...

First off, I guess we need to think of how the 'Battle system' will work?

Right now, I only thought of having designs displayed from battles and I think a Battle System would be awesome! But if we could get a outline of how it would work, consumed could maybe help us with it...

All of Ontic Sect can probably give you a hand with it, Myself and Consumed are the Co-Founders. I'm sure we could lend a hand.

Thanks, I know I talked to Consumed about it. He said he could code the site (php and html) if needed...

Thanks a bunch, shadeshigeru...

beta 2.1 looks good, the menu seems unusually small compared to the rest of it, otherwise, i really like it.

Really, cause I thought the menu took up a lot of space, considering that it's based around 'saving space' with the side 'header' and such... But I'll check that out Skate342!

So do you think for a matches page, that 2.1 will work? I can start adding in some more battles...

Then, I can start Beta's for the main page.

ok, the navigation perhaps should be on the left... however, the verticle bar with logo and affliates ISNT necersary and is therefor taking up valuble viewing space, I think it should allways be right aligned (100% width of page - keeping it consistant)

The navigation needs serious work, and the arrows dont work.. (just something I tried)

still lacks function and wow..

keep trying. :D

i like the navigation on that side, but i do think it should be just a little bigger. its kinda annoying to have to scroll so much just to see the entire layout. i think it would work pretty well for the matches page although there is still room for improvemetn.

Then am I the only one that likes the arrows?

You may have a point with the 'header' and I will look into that.

I guess the major goal of this site, is not 'wow' in the design of the website alone, more just a huge resource for psT. Now, I think it has a little 'wow' in it. I do want it functional though...

it needs wow... its aimed at graphic designers.

also, would it be safe to assume average resolution for the target audience will be 1024*768?

Make use of this and use percentage for widths, and definatly move "header/affliates" to the right.

:X

Okay, I'm just trying to understand your point... You want the nav to be bigger, wouldn't that make more scrolling? Okay, what would you do then?
